What this is. A nootropic-style blend taken for focus, memory and mental clarity.

This is the entire formula: 8 mg of niacin and 5 mg of vitamin B6. Two B vitamins, and nothing else in the capsule.

What you are actually getting, per 1 capsule

• Niacin (as niacinamide) — 8 mg NE
• Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl) — 5 mg

Neither ingredient is an extract, so there is no standardisation to show and no arithmetic to do. Two lines is the whole panel.

Worth knowing before you buy

Products with this name usually carry a long list — herbs with Latin names, a choline compound, something branded. This one carries two B vitamins at amounts you would find in an ordinary multivitamin, and both are widespread in food. If you already take a multivitamin, you are almost certainly already getting them.

We are not going to write three paragraphs to make two B vitamins read as more than two B vitamins. There is no herb here, no standardised extract, and nothing dosed against a published figure. If a formula with named, dosed actives is what you are after, this is not the bottle, and you should know that before you order rather than when it arrives.

How to take it

One capsule a day with water. Thirty capsules, so one a day is 30 days.

Other ingredients

Gelatin. The capsule is gelatin, which is animal-derived, so this is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. The panel does not state the animal source of the gelatin. It declares no allergens.

Cautions

Vitamin B6 reduces the effect of levodopa when that is taken without carbidopa. 5 mg is a small amount, but tell your doctor you are taking it if you are on levodopa. Both of these vitamins also appear in multivitamins and fortified foods, so count this capsule towards your daily total rather than on top of it. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, taking prescription medication or living with a medical condition, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting this or any supplement.
