"Carb blocker" usually means white kidney bean extract, which inhibits alpha-amylase and so slows starch digestion — real mechanism, small effect, and the trials that measured weight change found a pound or two over months. "Appetite suppressant" usually means a fibre that swells, or a stimulant. Neither approach has produced results in trials that come close to what the packaging in this category implies.
