Osterly Market Phosphatidylserine with Bacopa Monnieri
Both actives dosed. Bacopa standardised to bacosides.
Phosphatidylserine and bacopa with individual doses, and the bacopa standardised to its bacoside content so the number means something.
What it's for
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid concentrated in brain cell membranes; supplementation is studied mainly for memory in older adults. Bacopa monnieri is an Ayurvedic herb with a genuinely decent evidence base for memory formation — but the trials that found effects ran for twelve weeks or more, which is the single most important thing to know before buying it.
How to take it
- One serving daily with food
- Bacopa is traditionally taken with food; it causes stomach upset in some people otherwise
- Give it at least twelve weeks. Bacopa trials that ran shorter than that mostly found nothing
- Bacopa can be mildly sedating and may interact with thyroid medication and sedatives
On the label
- Phosphatidylserine, dose stated
- Bacopa standardised to bacosides
- 120 capsules
What this is not
- Not a fifteen-ingredient nootropic stack
- Not a stimulant
- Not fast — bacopa takes weeks
The straight answer
Bacopa without a bacoside percentage is just ground leaf of unknown strength. The standardisation is the difference between a dose and a guess.
